The Aquarium of the Americas is the major public aquarium in New Orleans, located on the banks of the Mississippi at 1 Canal Street. It is part of the Audubon Nature Institute complex and showcases aquatic wildlife from the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana rivers, and other marine environments, in an exhibit designed to raise awareness of biodiversity.
