Introduction to Arrábida Natural Park

Arrábida Natural Park stretches south of Lisbon, near Sesimbra, across a coastal mountain range overlooking the Sado estuary and the Atlantic Ocean. Protected for the richness of its landscapes, it combines limestone cliffs, Mediterranean forests and coves with clear water, in a setting that is among the best known on the Portuguese coast.

Created to protect this natural area, the park also includes sites of great geological and ecological value, with dense Mediterranean flora and species adapted to dry slopes and limestone rocks.
