Borisova Gradina Park : info and guided tour

Introduction to Borisova-Gradina Park

Borisova-Gradina Park is the largest and one of the best-known parks in Sofia. Located along Dragan Tsankov Blvd., it offers broad avenues, lawns, and shaded areas that make it a popular place for walks for both locals and visitors. Its setting combines urban nature and leisure spaces in the heart of the Bulgarian capital.

Created at the end of the 19th century and developed in stages throughout the 20th century, the park owes its name to Tsar Boris III. It gradually established itself as a major part of Sofia’s landscape, with successive developments that shaped its paths, clearings, and sports and recreational facilities.

Among its emblematic features are the long tree-lined vistas, resting spots, and several cultural and sports facilities located in the park. Borisova-Gradina is also known for its role in Sofia’s daily life, from jogging and strolls to occasional events and moments of relaxation close to the city center.
