Introduction to the English Garden

The English Garden is an iconic public park in Geneva, set on the shores of Lake Geneva, along Quai du Général-Guisan. Located right in the city center, it offers a popular walk along the quays, among trees, flower beds and open views over the water, the boats and the nearby Jet d’eau.

Created in the 19th century on former reclaimed and reorganized land near the lake, the garden is part of Geneva’s history of promenades opened up to the modern city.
