Fishermen’s Beach : info and guided tour

Introduction to Praia dos Pescadores

Praia dos Pescadores is the main beach in Albufeira, in the Algarve, in southern Portugal. Located on the edge of the town’s old core, it owes its name to the fishermen who once brought life to this coastline. Today, it remains one of the resort’s best-known areas, easy to recognize from the seafront.

The beach opens onto a wide bay of golden sand, sheltered by cliffs and by the urban fabric that overlooks it. This setting makes it a very busy place, appreciated for its direct access from the historic center. Its atmosphere combines seaside activity, the presence of the nearby fishing harbor, and views of the old town.

Praia dos Pescadores is also famous for its role in shaping Albufeira’s image, between maritime heritage and a modern tourist destination. Here, you can observe the transition between the old town and the coastline, with white houses and narrow streets descending toward the beach. The site is particularly well known for its open views over the bay.
