Introduction to the Canal Grande

The Canal Grande in Trieste is a short urban canal dug in the heart of the Borgo Teresiano district, near Piazza Sant’Antonio Nuovo. It connects the city to its port past and reflects the organization of the historic center around water, in an atmosphere very different from Venice’s canals, wider and more restrained.
