Introduction to Borgo Medievale

The Borgo Medievale of Turin is an open-air museum located in the Valentino Park, on the banks of the Po River. It recreates a village inspired by the Middle Ages with narrow streets, a small square, houses, shops, and a fortress, in a setting designed to evoke the civil and military architecture of the Piedmontese Middle Ages.

This site was created at the end of the 19th century for a major artistic and industrial exhibition organized in Turin. Designed as a historical evocation rather than an authentic relic, it brings together models inspired by monuments from Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. This origin explains its particular interest, combining heritage, staging, and education.

The visit allows you to observe stone and brick facades, steep roofs, arcades, and decorative elements evoking traditional craftsmanship. The castle, the ramparts, and the entrance gate are among the most emblematic features.
