Meštrović Gallery : info and guided tour

Introduction to Meštrović Gallery

The Meštrović Gallery is an art museum in Split, on the promontory of the Marjan peninsula, at Šetalište Ivana Meštrovića 46. It is dedicated to the work of Ivan Meštrović, one of Croatia’s best-known sculptors, and presents a significant part of his artistic legacy in a setting facing the Adriatic Sea.

The site occupies a residence designed for the artist, with spaces that blend residential architecture and a museum function. The building’s understated, bright design highlights the volumes, terraces, and openings onto the landscape. The whole experience gives the visit an intimate dimension, in keeping with Meštrović’s monumental sculpture and decorative arts.

The gallery is famous for its sculptures, drawings, and works that make it possible to trace the evolution of Meštrović’s work, between classicism, monumentality, and modern expression. The tour also highlights the atmosphere of the place itself, where art interacts with the gardens, patios, and views of Split, reinforcing the cultural appeal of the visit.
