Introduction to Mikrolimano

Mikrolimano is a small marina in Piraeus, on the southwest coast of Athens, at Akti Dilaveri. Set in a narrow, sheltered cove, it is known for its intimate seaside setting, very different from the larger activity of Piraeus’s main port. Its name literally means “small port” in Greek.

The site corresponds to the ancient port of Kantharos in antiquity, and later took on its present appearance around the natural bay of Mounichia. Today, Mikrolimano is a popular place for a stroll thanks to its almost enclosed curve, lined with quays, boat masts and restaurants facing the water. The whole area retains a rare human scale in the region.

Mikrolimano is famous for its elegant atmosphere and its connection with Piraeus’s maritime life.
