Introduction to the Palace of Winds

The Palace of Winds, or Hawa Mahal, is one of the best-known landmarks in Jaipur. Located in the Pink City, it stands on Hawa Mahal Rd, near Badi Choupad. Its immediately recognizable pink façade makes it an iconic image of the capital of Rajasthan and a major landmark of the historic center.

Built for the court of Jaipur, this palace was designed to offer the women of the royal family a discreet vantage point over the street and the life of the city.
