Statue of Liberty : info and guided tour

Presentation of the Statue of Liberty

The Colmar Statue of Liberty is a monumental replica installed at the northern entrance to the city, along the Strasbourg road. Standing several metres high, it catches the eye with its green silhouette and seven-point crown, inspired by the famous New York monument. It forms a distinctive visual landmark in the Colmar landscape.

This work was installed in Colmar as a tribute to Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, a sculptor born in the city and the creator of the Statue of Liberty in New York. The choice of location recalls this strong link between Colmar and the artist. The sculpture has become a local symbol, combining heritage, artistic memory, and Alsatian identity.

Visible from the road, the statue stands out with its imposing proportions and finish reminiscent of copper patina. Its face, raised torch, and draped folds faithfully evoke the original, while offering a spectacular presence on the scale of the city. It is a popular stop for lovers of iconic monuments.
