Introduction to the Temple of Heracles

The Temple of Heracles, also known as the Temple of Hercules, is located in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Sicily. It is one of the most famous Greek remains at the archaeological site, set on a vast plateau overlooking the city. Today, its ruins evoke the power of ancient Akragas.

Attributed to the classical Greek period, this Doric temple is among the oldest sanctuaries at the site.
